Mother Reacts To Son's Shooting Death Near Millington's Naval Base
Oct 15, 2018A mother is devastated after someone shot and killed her son near Millington's Naval Base. The Millington Police Department is handling the investigation. Chief Mark Dunbar says the victim, identified by his mother as Lawrence James, is not a member of the military and the shooting took place at a recreational lodging area near the base's golf course. Miranda Hogan, the victim's mother, talked to Local 24 News Reporter, Annette Peagler Sunday. "His best friend was the one shot in the jaw, Rico, and when it went through his jaw, it hit my son and my son hit the ground and we know that the guy shot him a couple more times."Millington Police took three people into custody following the shooting, but later released two. Police are not releasing the name of the suspect who fired the shots and investigators are working with the Shelby County District Attorney's Office to determine charges. Hogan says this is a situation where both families lose. Hogan says James was preparing to propose to his girlfrien...
